The “Wisewood Chain” refers to the chain of cities that form the nation of Backbone.

From the coast to the mountains, these are:

• Backbone
• Hookridge
• Marsvan
• Bearly

All of these cities were abandoned during the wars from 1090-1098 and most are currently overrun by orcs.

Note: Wisewood also refers to the lands once occupied by the Sylvan Elves, just west of Pleven.
