As they near the dwarven outpost called “Hammerfast”, the party encounters a merchant named Agafay and his small caravan. They have been recently attacked by an Ankheg – who carried away the merchant's teenage son.
They pursue the creature to find an enormous nest. But they manage to kill or harass the creatures enough to rescue the boy and escape with their lives.
