Cale & Strachan
Cale & Strachan, friends since childhood, are a Cleric and a Paladin who worship Odin. Early in their lives, they took it upon themselves to track down the three disks of Odin as well as the Eye of Odin. These legendary magic items were of great power and could be used to combat evil quite effectively. In February of 1092, the two stumbled across the disk of Sif. It was in the possession of a man who called himself only 'Wizard'. Wizard proved to be an ally against a common foe and had no desire to depart with his treasure (which had been given to him by the dragon Sowulf). Cale & Strachan agreed to let Wizard keep the disk if he later agreed to relinquish it if its powers were needed.
In May of 1093, they found the disk of Frigga. Using its powers of knowledge, they were led to Sly's castle and were on hand to help defeat the Pit Fiend Akhnatep. After that, they travelled with Sly to kill the dragon Sowulf. With the treasure from Sowulf, they established themselves firmly in the kingdom of Rota and continued with their quest.
Unfortunately, though they had the disk of Frigga to answer their questions, they could find no trace of the disk of Thor, nor of the Eye of Odin. They spent many fruitless years searching the world, and eventually gave up for the time being.
It wasn't until 1104 that they were able to resume their search. In December of that year, Karelia returned from Greyhawk with what she called the gem of Vakdra. It was, in actuality, the Eye of Odin. With its power to boost the Disk of Frigga, they were finally able to locate the Disk of Thor on December 25th. On December 31st, the Dark Mage used the considerable power of the evil crown of might to make a telepathic announcement to everybody in the world about his imminent take- over. Cale & Strachan saw this as the time when the three must be together, so they headed south to get the disk of Sif from Wizard. He gave it to them without incident.
After the battle on January 8, 1105, Cale and Strachan returned to Rota and helped restore order. They often advise King Galin of Rota.
