V3 Session Three -- 21 August 2009 -- "The Arena Mob"
August, 1119
On advice from Tissa's cousin, Himion, the party saves the smuggler merchant Badis from an arcane assassin at the Arena in Aylal.
The assassin reveals little about who sent him, preferring to die rather than betray his master. However, Himion and Badis piece together the following story:
Badis imports goods from a dwarven merchant named Thurr Gargengrim. One of the most lucrative imports is a popular (and expensive) whiskey produced by monks, who live at the ancient ruined city of “Spellgard”. Recently, these monks reported that a malevolent force began occupying the ruins. Fearing for his lucrative trade, Badis activated his network of spies to find out who was behind this occupation. His investigation quickly led to some powerful people in Idus. The next thing he knows is that someone is trying to kill him.
