Mosamor Marsh
This is a large area in Southern Rota south of the city of Southbay, where large populations of Lizardfolk and Kobolds live. Smaller numbers of Goblins and Orcs live here, as well, though they are usually little more than raiding parties from the nearby Den'dray Hills.
The more intelligent Lizardfolk tend to remain on the coast and in the central portions of the marsh, leaving the Kobolds as a buffer to the outside world. Thus, most contact with the marsh involves small Kobold raiding parties attacking the closest villages and farms. However, due to the peace treaty signed in the year 979, the Lizardfolk are fairly careful not to let the Kobolds become too much of a nuisance to the Humans.
On the southern coast of the marsh is the dead Human city of Öyere, now home to Lizardfolk (and, some say, more exotic creatures). Adventurers who have travelled to Öyere in recent years report that about half of the buildings are still intact, though most of the city has been overgrown by swamp vegetation.
A road connecting Öyere to Southbay still exists, though it suffers from decades of neglect and the Kobolds tend to raid any traveller foolish enough to use it.
Centuries ago, this region was ruled by a Black Dragon named Mosargrax. It is unclear whether he (she?) still rules, though it is often assumed to be true.
