Kinander
Originally an elven trade city, this walled town fell to a strong Orc assault in the year 1060 – a full 30 years before Sardul's Orc armies marched on the world.
The elves gave up the town but maintained a strong presence in the nearby forests until the fall of Pleven in 1099.
With the arrival of a portal in 1109, the city experienced a resurgence (of sorts). The Orcs, though, had little imagination and simply tried to ambush any traveler foolish enough to step through. Around 1120, though, the newer breed of Orcs started using the portal to trade with the outside world.
Now, the town of Kinander is routinely visited by all races. And even though it is still easily the most lawless and dangerous of the portal destinations, brisk trade is done year-round.
