The “Eladrin” race as described in 4th edition D&D refer to a subset of Elves known commonly as “High Elves”.

All Eladrin consider Pleven to be their home. However, in July of 1099, the elves of Pleven summoned a dimensional portal to escape certain death at the hands of a massive army of orcs – led by the Dark Mage's Demonwraiths.

As a result, any remaining Eladrin were either not present at the battle in 1099 or escaped under great peril.
