Idus is known as the “frontier” city of the Mosaî empire. With a mostly ineffective and corrupt government, order is maintained by a loose confederacy of merchants – each ruling over their own neighborhoods.

Despite the lack of significant resources and being the only city in the empire that does not reside on or near a significant waterway, the city's economy is fairly strong – gaining much from frequent trading with the Fadil tribesmen.

The V3 crew infiltrated the district ruled by the merchant Azêllay, where they discovered that he has control over a large array of portals that provide access to various places around southern Mosaî.
